Let’s see. I just graduated from school and am off to Japan to teach English. During my senior year, I researched how social networking sites are used in identity construction – highlighting Erving Goffman’s ideas on performance and audience exchange. I am very interested in what it means to have an online identity as opposed to a real life identity. Are the two the same, different, or a fusion of cyber/offline influence? I’d love to explore this more.
As for the JET Program, I will be leaving July 26 to Tokyo for a 3 day orientation. From there, I still don’t know where I’ll be heading. But nonetheless, I’m looking forward to this exciting adventure in Japan.
Jaa, Ikou!
